Under the most arduous conditions and with only a telephone number to rely on, fourteen-year-old Mulla sets off on a perilous journey to find his brother who had left long ago under mysterious circumstances.
Fed up with his life on the picturesque and serene Lakshadweep Island, Mulla steals a small and tattered fishing boat and sets off for the crowded bustle of Mumbai in search of his elder brother, Akbar (Nivin Pauly). On leaving the island, Mulla find himself immediately thrown into the seedy underbelly of Mumbai, where he is taken in by a gang of orphan criminals who give him a crash course in urban survival skills.
In the midst of Mulla’s story, Mohandas take us back to the days leading up to Akbar’s departure from Lakshadweep, where we learn about the heartbreak that led to his disappearance.
Alternating between scenes of pulse-pounding action and heartbreaking tenderness, Geetu Mohandas’ second feature is epic story of love, sexual identity and underworld misadventure.
